The Thingy app facilitates seamless integration with the Nordic Thingy:52™ devices, which serve as compact, power-efficient multi-sensor solutions utilizing the nRF52832 Bluetooth® 5 System on Chip (SoC) from Nordic Semiconductor.

This application enables users to capture, view, and interact with sensor data from their Thingy devices without requiring any programming knowledge.

Upon connecting an iPhone or iPad with the Thingy, users can access a range of functionalities, including:

<ul>
<li>Monitoring current temperature, humidity, air quality, and atmospheric pressure.</li>
<li>Utilizing features such as a compass, step counter, and axis tap detection.</li>
<li>Obtaining real-time data regarding orientation, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer readings.</li>
<li>Measuring the gravity vector.</li>
<li>If desired, programming events through the button located at the top of the device.</li>
<li>Customizing RGB LED color, brightness, and modes.</li>
<li>Streaming PCM audio to the built-in speaker or playing predefined notification sounds in response to events.</li>
<li>Streaming audio from Thingy to a mobile device utilizing the integrated microphone.</li>
<li>Playing programmable tunes in frequency mode.</li>
<li>Efficiently updating device firmware through the app as new versions are released.</li>
</ul>

For firmware and mobile developers:

The Thingy device can be programmed with custom firmware akin to other Nordic Semiconductor development kits. The accompanying firmware package includes detailed documentation for easy customization according to specific needs. Furthermore, a CocoaPod library in Swift 5 for iOS 9.0 and above is available exclusively for Thingy to ensure smooth installation and integration into projects.
